These will bring a little sunshine to those who need it at Children's Medical Center! Thank you, Carrie, for mail these to us!!! Please also thank the lady that made the other hats as well!!! Here are some photos of the hats. These will also be posted on Ravelry & our FB page.
A little information about Crafting Sunshine
This charity started when we realized there were so many groups that needed more help than we could give on our own. We picked a few groups that were close to our hearts to focus on. They are our two local animal shelters, ALS(Lou Gehrig's Disease) Central & Southwest Ohio Chapter, Hospice, and our local children's medical center. Right now, we are working on becoming a registered non-profit, charitable organization with the label, 501 (c). Please bare with us as we organize our online side.

This chemo hat was made by one of the co-founders, Hayley. Her first chemo hat & yes, she did a little happy dance. lol Yarn for this hat was donated by a group on Ravelry called, Yarm Storming. Thanks for the yarn!! This turned out to be reversible and a row must have skipped because the pattern flip. The cute model is Hayley's daughter. The pattern used is called Inside Out Chemo Cap.

I received permisson to share photos from the second donation that was mentioned in yesterday's post. A nice lady named, Mary, sent seven washcloths and a big blanket square to be used for a cat blanket! Some of the washclothes are bigger than a normal washcloth which is perfect for PALS!! (People with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease) AWESOME!!!! Thank you, Mary!!!!!!

Donations & A Plea for Chemo Hats from a local Children's Hospital
We had two donations that came in the mail, one yesterday & one today. I am waiting on permisson to share the second donation with all of you. The first donation came from a company. When asked if I could post a photo and their company link, they replied, "Please don't worry about giving us credit anywhere. We're just happy to help." Isn't that sweet?? Here are two photos of their donation with a box over the note with their logo. Thank you to the special company that sent all of this to Crafting Sunshine!!
I also wanted to share with all of you two items that were made with donated yarn. The first one is a cat blanket that was made with yarn donated by Julie & Hayley. The second item is a comfort/prayer shawl that was made with donated yarn from the group, Yarm Storming!! Thanks again for the donated yarn!!
Also, I spoke to a lady at our local children's hospital, this morning, about a drop off date for a donation from Crafting Sunshine. She said that they are in need of chemo hats. They supply is real low. I told her that I would ask if anyone would be willing to make any chemo hats & donate them to us. I am also going to look for a chemo hat pattern on Ravelry & then make a few myself. The other co-founder said she has never made a chemo hat but is willing to give it try. Hopefully between us and all of you out in crafting community, we will be able to bring some chemo hat sunshine to those children in need at the hospital.
