A little information about Crafting Sunshine

This charity started when we realized there were so many groups that needed more help than we could give on our own. We picked a few groups that were close to our hearts to focus on. They are our two local animal shelters, ALS(Lou Gehrig's Disease) Central & Southwest Ohio Chapter, Hospice, and our local children's medical center. Right now, we are working on becoming a registered non-profit, charitable organization with the label, 501 (c). Please bare with us as we organize our online side.

Who We Donate To

Here is the list of charities, the reasons why we would love to help them, and the items that are needed. All items can knitted, crocheted, quilted, hand sewn, etc... or store bought.

Our three local animal shelters. Our pets are rescued animals. They have brought such joy into our lives, that we would like to give a little sunshine to the animals still waiting for their new families and homes. The items that are needed are blankets & bandanas for both dogs and cats. Our shelters have requested no yarn items for dogs due to safety issues, but non-yarn blankets about towel size would be appreciated for the dogs. The cat blankets can be yarn, just no holes, like lace, due to safety issues.

Hospice and ALS Central & Southwest Ohio Chapter. One of our founders father passed away from ALS, which is also called, Lou Gehrig's Disease. Hospice helped her mum take care of her father, at home. The items needed are lap blankets, washclothes (on the larger size for people that have drooling issues) adult size bibs, regular size blankets, and prayer shawls.

Local hospitals that help children. The main reason is because there is a need. A need for baby hats, children thru teen size chemo hats, baby booties, and blankets.
